Run in the family???
Hmmm. I think this definitely runs in the family.........
My nephew, Elliot, signed a letter of intent to continue his track and field and cross country careers at Northwestern College next year. Wooohoo! Check here !
What blown me away is that he ran 16:57 in 5000m. Get this... 5000m. That is 5K. That is 3.1 miles. Right? 16:57, thats my nephew! That is a freaking pace of 5:27 ! Awesome !

Now, my daughter, Erin, swam this morning. She completed 25 laps and beats 12 boys ! Guess this? Erin is only 8 years old. That's my girl ! Move over Janet Evans, here comes Erin - the future Olympian!
Now, I am going to leave a hint below and let you figure out what I did this morning that was the unthinkable. I swear to many of my friends that I will only stick with running and nothing else. I guess that will soon change.....

Wow, lots of athletes in the family, love that! Also, your daughter is strong!!
???? Wondering about the mystery.
I won't spoil your fun since i've already gotten your email... but I THINK IT'S AWESOME :D
Congrats to your nephew, that's smokin' fast! And YAY ERIN!!!! You're a star!!!
congrats to the athletes in your family!
I would be up for some runs again, but I don't have a 20 on the schedule until Sept. 13th.
Hmmmmmm. What are you going to tell us? I hope I can sleep tonight. ;)
Yippee for your little girl. I was like that when I was young. I LOVED beating boys.
Excellent athletes in the family!
I have no idea what those shorts are - bike? swim? both? Hmmmmm...
Hmmm, triathlon? Duathlon? Tell us, quick!
Are those bike shorts? Are you joining our awesome triathlon family? Do it!
Congrats to all the athletes in your family!
Sounds like it definitely runs in the family! Yay for both of them!
Are you coming over to the dark side of triathlons?
So that is where you get all the talent... or is it the other way around.
You must be really proud and you should be. It sounds like Erin is headed for really big things as a swimmer. I am always so amazed when I hear about really young people doing such great things. I believe as an 8 year old I was at my "practicing eating dirt" phase of my life.
Take care my friend.
Weeeee! It's awesome, let me tell you. :o)
Damn that's fast!
Family of athletes, that is awesome!!
You have a very athletic family. Kudos! :)
Looks like you are joining a disco revival group! Congratulations!
I think all runners try a tri at some point.
So, I saw your FB question, so I don't want to guess on the surprise.
BTW, I grew up in Pocahontas, IA (and went to Iowa State)- so I've actually heard of Solon. Small world!
In fact, adamrisu stands for Adam-R(my last name starts with R)-Iowa-State-Univ. :)
congrats to all your family!
Oh no how in the world did I miss this awesome post?
First way to go nephew Elliot!!! He sounds like an incredible young man and an awesome runner!!!
WAY TO GO ERIN!! She is going to be quite the swimmer!! FO SURE!!!
