My new kicks act like a fireworks!

Hope you all had a good 4th of July weekend! I know I did. One negative, it went by so FAST! I had plenty to eat with the cookout. I had a good rest. I spend quality time with my family. The highlight was getting a new kicks. This is the kind of kicks that I will not be using regularly. This is my special kicks. The only time will use it for racing purpose. It is like putting a Ferrari on your feet. In the last four years that I have run, I have never own a racing shoes. I have done my research and chose Saucony Fastwitch 3.

Now, get this. This is like having a real Ferrari ! It is lightweight. It is like running barefoot. I have put this to a real test on Fourth of July. Now, are you ready for some real kick ass result. Look below and it's real surprising!

You can say that my racing kicks act like a fireworks. I was on fire. I was smoking up on the asphalt. Keep this in mind, my average pace is about 8:30 to 9:30 with training kicks like Saucony Hurricane XI. With my "Ferrari" kicks, my pace came to 7:21. My eyes fell off the sockets when I looked at my splits. I was grinning from ear to ear like a Grinch that stole Christmas. I was beaming with a big smile everywhere after this and realized that I don't have a single fly on my teeth after running this fast. This is freaking awesome! I have to say this is the first time I ever seen this.

Before I go, I wanted to extend my thanks to Ms. Running Down a Dream (plus her mom and her sister), joyRuN and Ms. Ramblings of a Running Addict for their generous contribution to the Epilepsy Foundation.

Now, I am putting my shoes in a glass case just like where you put the fire extinguisher in it. I will only break the glass whenever I need it for a big race ! ;-)

If you gotta wear road shoes, Saucony is the only way to go. Great speed!! ;)

I've recently decided to get a pair of racing flats as per the advice from my coach. I've been looking at those Fastwitch shoes and am pretty close to getting a pair.

Nice shoes. I wouldn't know what a Ferrari feels like. I had a Malibu once that was pretty decent. Are they as good as a Malibu also?

I just bought a new pair last week and was asking the shoe guy about them. What did you look for in a racing shoe? Are you a pronator?

Either way, it is hard to argue with results like that!!

Hi Ted

Absolutely awesome splits!!!

It is such a reward for all of our hard work when we can have a run like that. You are the man.

In terms of what I wear, I use Asics lightweight trainers for most of my 6 to 10 mile training runs. I wear a Gel Nimbus for recovery runs when my feet are sore (happening a lot lately with all the miles). For racing up to marathon distance, I wear a Brooks ST3 racer or an Asics Gel Hyper Speed.

Congrats again my friend and take care.

Thanks Ted and yes, you are still the man!
