Pictorial Recap - Brooklyn Half Marathon
Yo -- I am so sorry for not keeping you posted of my running activity. This is definitely my time to catch up with my blogworld. I have been in seclusion lately due to Marci's retirement. I couldn't muster myself up since Marci's departure. You see - I took this very hard. However, I do understand that she has to move on. I promise you that I will not type up too much but do want to leave a lot of pictures for you to enjoy.
This was my first time ever completed one full marathon (Vermont) and one half marathon (Brooklyn, NY) in one week. I have made one promise a long time ago that I would run with one cool blogger, Ms. Running Down a Dream, aka Michelle. This was Michelle's first half marathon in a long time. She was so worried that she wouldn't finish it. I've told her that we are going to have fun and we will get the job done. All she had to do was follow my ass. We had a GREAT time! I also had a wonderful opportunity to meet one DailyMiler (www.dailymile.com) aka Samantha since she doesn't have a blog yet. I am hinting that she should ,someday, set up a blog. ;-) I also had a terrific opportunity to meet Ms. Why do I Run? Because I can aka Christie. You have to meet Michelle and Christie. They both are terrific runners. They are both a joy to run with. Christie wasn't able to run and she was smart to do it. She listened to her body very well. By the way, I love the way she laughs. She knows how to make it all the merrier especially during the post-race luncheon.
Enjoy the pictures....

Great photos, Ted! Looks like you had fun with the ladies.
Congrats all around!
Looked like an interesting course. WTG - a half right after a full!
PS. The swimmers looked cold - brrr
I LOVE this report Ted, you always have way too much fun, good for you.
Congrat's gals! Way to go!
Beautiful girls!! Congrats to your wife, that seems like a long distance to swim! (at least to a non-swimmer!)
Again, nice meeting you! Hope that we can run together soon!
Great pics, especially the one with the donut. However, at first I couldn't tell what was hanging from your mouth. Michelle and Christie ARE great! Someday I'd love to make it out East and run with ya'll.
Love all the pictures and I've always wanted to eat at Nathans! I'm so jealous! :) Yea, the donut looks like you are eating raw chicken, I was thinking, hmmm that's a little protein overload! :)
Those pictures look like you guys had a GREAT time!
That port a john line is NUTS.
Great pic of you carb loading before the race! :) Awesome that you were such wonderful support for Michelle.. and congrats to Kathy too! WOW!
THIS JUST IN:
TED IS FREAKING AWESOME!!
Seriously, I cannot thank you enough bro! You singlehandedly ran a marathon and then a LSD Half Mary with a smile on your face!!
If it wasn't for you, I think I would just be finishing up Brooklyn Half Marathon right now!!! :O)
Congrats to Kathy on an awesome swim. Erin and Sarah are beautiful!!!
Wow, from the photos it looks like you got to be a part of a lot of great events. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the training for your next marathon!
Great photos!
And donut!
Great pics. Glad to know you're still out there.
Great photos and congratulations running your half so close to Vermont. I think there is a Maniac in you... Im looking into RI, it would be fun to meet again!
I'd love to join you but it's a hell of a commute from NZ!
Great pics! Looks like you had fun!
Great pics Ted! I will be doing the Asbury Park Marathon on 10/18. Good luck in RI!

I loved the family photos...you are one lucky man! For some reason the donut picture reminded me of the band, KISS.
Great photos! So many fun people to meet and support. Good luck with the next race.
Great pics Ted! I can't believe you ran those races so close together. You're hard core!!! I want Dunkin' Donuts. :( We don't have them here and we didn't in Denver either. Jealous!
Also you're kiddos are sooooo cute! Lucky man.
Great pics, Ted. Congrats to you, your wife and, well, pretty much everyone! :)
Great job, Ted. Are those ladies tiny or are you a giant? You LOOM over them! Cheers!
Excellent photos!
And you look supadupa tall next to the lovely girls :)
Newport RI would be SUCH a lovely place for a marathon - happy training.
Finally, I've been looking for a post from you. Glad you are still alive and well. Totally jealous you got to meet Christie, I'm hoping to meet up with her one of these days as well. Thanks for the pics and take care!
Hi Ted
You are absolutely the coolest! Congrats on the full/half as that is quite an accomplishment.
I did want to comment about the fact that you are always surrounded by beautiful women in practically every picture.
What gives Ted???
Hi ted,
thanks for hitting my blog
Yes its miles. I train by miles not km. I know strange for a Canadian but when I was a kid we hadnt yet switched over to the metric system so learned in miles. guess I am just stubborn. I think this actually drives some of my training partners crazy as I am always give them pace info in miles per minute.
I will be like were running 7:00 pace and they always say .. okay whats that in km.
Running with a friend is the best!! Glad you guys had a good time, nice pics =)
Congrats on all the events!!!
I'm sooooo excited that you'll be running the Amica Marathon. I did it last year and thought it was fantastic. They've changed the course a little since last year, but it should still be really nice!
