Pictures from NJ Marathon/Long Branch Half Marathon

Woooo!!! Believe it or not, it was my first time ever to witness the Marathon as a spectator. I have to say that I was in AWE. I am so pumped up for my #6 Marathon in Vermont in three weeks. My wife participated in her second Long Branch Half Marathon.

  • I was spectating with ShoreTurtle this morning. He was such a riot! He did actually use the cowbells the entire time. My ears are still actually hearing the ringing!
  • The best part was giving the high fives to runners.
  • It was GREAT to see Flyers26, Progman2000, joyRuN and ShoreTurtle today. I wasn't able to find BommaMomma and her husband.
  • The weather was good during the first hour and it started to pour for the rest of the day.
Enjoy the pictures.....

Flyers26, Progman2000, ShoreTurtle and joyRuN
(My sincerest apology to Progman. I was having trouble trying to delete the red-eye effect and somehow made it looks like he has black-eye.)

My wife who participated in Half Marathon.

Off they go!

ShoreTurtle and his famous hat!

Congratulations to Flyers26, Progman, joyRuN and BommaMomma for finishing the race and to everyone else, too! My wife finished in 3 hour and half with a terrible case of bursitis (hip area). She refused to give up and managed to cross the line with such pain. She was a fighter all the way. Again, Congratulations to everyone!

Sorry about the annoying cowbells.

I had a lot of fun cheering with you today.

Congratulations to your wife on finishing. I was sorry to see her in pain.

You're going to do great in Vermont...

I can't believe Bill punched me in the eye before the race - I mean, I know he's jealous of me and all but still...

Thanks for coming out, good to finally meet you. Hope your wife feels better. I've never had Bursitis, but I'll probably get it in my next training cycle now.

Not easy running with pain. WTG! on finishing.
I love cheering on runners - but seldom find myself on that side of the fence.
PS. What's the real story on the black eye ; )

Thanks so much for spectating! Great day to run; rotten day to watch! I had a PR there - first time I had run it. Loved the course- especially the finish by the ocean.

Thanks for being such a positive runner. It is people like you who make us all look good whether we are running or just spectating.

Take care.

Being a spectator is fun. I've too only done it a few times, but it is a completely different experience.
