The keyword is.......

  • When I run consistently, I feel my form is the most efficient. My legs stronger. My breathing in rhythm. Let my mind get in the flow. In and out. My mind is like this below....

  • I have to block everything out of my mind and focus on the harmony, the rhythm and the pulsating of every fiber in my body.
  • I don't want to be fixated on numbers or focus on the clock. (i.e., 5 miles to go.. 4.8, 4.6...) Just turn on the Garmin and don't dwell on it.
  • Let my mind act like a river. Let the River flow and let the river carry me to the finish line at the Vermont City Marathon this Sunday with grace and in good will.
It is my hope that I will have the opportunity to meet three bloggers whom I know that will be running in the Vermont City Marathon: Laura of Ms. Absolut(ly) Fit, Marci of Ramblings of a Running Addict, and Peter of This View of Life. Laura will be the official pacer. I was pretty sure I came so close to meeting Marci at the Philadelphia Marathon last November but it never happened. I have just discovered Peter a few weeks ago as he is preparing for his second Vermont City Marathon. I am also a friend with him via DailyMile.com where we compared running notes. It is like a Facebook for serious runner. You should join in the DailyMile.com and connect with me (SeeTedRun). We can always use this tool to motivate each other.

~~~~ Have a GOOD rest of the week to all of you!~~~~~
Have a good mellow run in VT. One of my winter running pals, Non-stop Bob, is up there to do that race. He's in the 70-74 age group.
I like that photo. It makes me think of what I imagine when I can't fall asleep at night. Then suddenly, I'm out like a light.
If I were you... my brain would fall asleep while I'm running with so much calm and flow!
I'm not going to lie, the first time I saw this post, I thought that the keyword was 'constipation'. Which, I suppose in races is a good thing too :)
Good luck on the race! Can't wait to hear about it.
I like that you're doing alot of mental prep as well as physical. I did that too and I really think it helped.
A wise runner once said to me, Randi, in marathoning and as in life - find your pace and stick to it.
GOOD LUCK this weekend!! woohoo!
