The keyword is.......

- When I run consistently, I feel my form is the most efficient. My legs stronger. My breathing in rhythm. Let my mind get in the flow. In and out. My mind is like this below....

- I have to block everything out of my mind and focus on the harmony, the rhythm and the pulsating of every fiber in my body.
- I don't want to be fixated on numbers or focus on the clock. (i.e., 5 miles to go.. 4.8, 4.6...) Just turn on the Garmin and don't dwell on it.
- Let my mind act like a river. Let the River flow and let the river carry me to the finish line at the Vermont City Marathon this Sunday with grace and in good will.
~~~~ Have a GOOD rest of the week to all of you!~~~~~
Great post and I totally agree! :) Consistency is key!
Consistency is definitely the key!
Good luck at the race.
I love this post. I can almost see and feel the river flowing so peacefully and lightly along.
Your going to really run a good race my friend. Consistency and pacing and just loving the run!!!
YES!!!
Good luck next weekend, can't wait to reading your race report! Hope you get to meet Marci this time 'round :) Great post about consistency... totally agree!
Have fun meeting all 3 bloggers!
So true.. I needed to be consistent in my 5k Saturday, but I was all over the place.
Best of luck in Vermont!
That's very zen, Ted. I like it.
Just stay in the moment. Not easy but always a good reference point ; )
Good Luck in your race - You sound so ready!
Have a good mellow run in VT. One of my winter running pals, Non-stop Bob, is up there to do that race. He's in the 70-74 age group.
I like the comparison to the river - well said!
Have fun this weekend!
I like that photo. It makes me think of what I imagine when I can't fall asleep at night. Then suddenly, I'm out like a light.
If I were you... my brain would fall asleep while I'm running with so much calm and flow!
Have fun meeting the bloggers! It is a hoot. I concur with consistency....
Have a great race dude!
I'm not going to lie, the first time I saw this post, I thought that the keyword was 'constipation'. Which, I suppose in races is a good thing too :)
Good luck on the race! Can't wait to hear about it.
Go get 'em in Vermont!
I seriously need to take a page from your book. Stop staring at the Garmin & focus on the harmony, the rhythm...Very well said!
You'll be awesome at Vermont!!!!!
I like that you're doing alot of mental prep as well as physical. I did that too and I really think it helped.
A wise runner once said to me, Randi, in marathoning and as in life - find your pace and stick to it.
GOOD LUCK this weekend!! woohoo!
Good luck in Vermont! Be calm like the water grasshopper.
Do your best you can that day.
Nothings more important in racing and in training.
good luck with your race.
