Fall is not here yet....
Looks like summer doesn't want to leave us at all !!! We are are anxious for cooler weather, right? It wasn't the case last weekend up in Rochester, New York. I flew in with my family to Rochester from Newark. Only $81.50 roundtrip fare per person on Continental Airlines! Who can't beat that? Anyhoo, I got up Sunday morning at 5:30 a.m. to get ready for 7:45 a.m. gun time. My wife, me, and other deaffies joined the half marathon. I tell ya.... it was 75 degrees and the humidity was so thick you couldn't cut it with a knife. It was like being in an outdoor sauna. I told my wife that I am not going for PR due to oppressive heat and humidity. After the gun went off, I walked with my wife and other deaf walkers. After two minute of walking, my wife insisted that I go out and kick ass. I told my wife "Are you crazy? In this heat and humidity. Forget it". She looked like she was about to kick my ass and said "GO GO GO!" I was like - "WTF". Believe it or not, I went ALL OUT till the finish line. I have never seen so many runners bailing out. Truthfully, I felt I was prepared for this. I was fully hydrated. I ate well the night before. I don't know if I was truly insane when I pushed it all the way with the heat and humidity. I think I am! Here's the stats....
After the race, it was 85 degrees with muggy condition. Am I insane or what?
Am I insane or what?
Am I insane or what ???
Read the newspaper article about the Rochester Marathon and tell me if I am crazy....
Therefore, I have a new PR for half marathon in this miserable condition...

Pictures of Rochester Half Marathon will be posted in the near future. Hang on to your pant!
Short note to Marcy - I wasn't daydreaming at all during this time. ;-) Truthfully, I was thinking mostly about Ryan Hall and how gracefully he ran in Beijing. I've felt like I ran just like the way he did.

Awesome Ted. Way to go.
Yes. You are insane. But congrats on the fantastic PR.
Awesome time in any conditions. Good luck in Jersey City (my birth place).
You're a tad insane I would have to agree. But dang! nice run! Just think about the time you'll be able to post once the fall weather hits. Looking forward to that next race report.
Wow, way to PR it in the heat - you are quite the speedster lately.
Great job Ted!!!
And yes, you are insane. But no more so than any of us. :)
What would it have been if you didn't walk the first few minutes?? Seriously, you are insane ;)
Great job!!!
We will def. run into each other at some point. I will be back in the race circuit in no time at all!!!
Oh my gawd Ted! You keep bustin out these PR's left and right! CONGRATS!!! You're getting so damn speedy!! ;D ;D ;D
Way to go Ted. Those conditions sound brutal. Philly will be cooler.
Dude, one word! Well two actually!!
You ROCK!!
Great race my friend! I am proud of you!!!

Awesome job Ted!
If that heat & humidity was F'n terrible! I can't imagine PR'ing on a day like that.
Keep it up!
Great race! I noticed that you didn't let down on your hilly miles either(4&5.)
*The year of the PR's*
I set my air conditioning to 76. 75 outside sounds glorious to me.
Thanks for the awesomely kind words.
Lava Gels are totally a hawaii thing--send your mailing address to frayedlaces@gmail.com and I would be more than happy to send you one!
Un-?-ing-believable. It's amazing when you do things that you never set out to do; and just knock socks off.
Nice PR in some DEFCON4 conditions.
Wow! That's amazing!
Truly inpressive personal record with a nice walking break at the start?!? Aren't most we runners a little insane in one way or another?
Wow, great job! I hope you rehydrated appropriately.
Great job! I can't believe you PR'd in that "heat". Ha, I can't believe I just said 75 degrees was "hot".
Can you tell i don't live in Miami anymore?
