Another milestone....

There is not very much to report from the Jersey shore! It is pretty quiet. Today is just another milestone. I have turned 44 years old. I don't feel like there is a huge transformation for me especially today. It is just merely adding another year to my life meter. No dramatic effect. No fanfare needed. Just like any other day! I've told my wife that I am not at the point where I want to celebrate in any way, shape or form. I've told her that I got my new Garmin 405 last June and I have considered as my early birthday gift. All I wanted is a quiet day and to go out for nice dinner with my family. I have made a valid point with my wife awhile ago. I've told her that I am truly blessed to remain healthy and I am still running. I have two healthy daughters. My youngest daughter has remained free of seizure for 15 months. She does not go into convulsion. She has what is called "absence seizure". In the past when she was little, she would stare for a few minutes and would snap right out of it. My wife and I took her to numerous doctors in Denver, New York City, New Jersey and Philadelphia. We are truly blessed that we've found the best doctor in the country and that is right in Philadelphia. It's the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Neurology Department. The doctor has found the right key to the right door for my youngest daughter. She has been free of seizure ever since. She had an abnormal EEG activity in the past. She had her EEG test done last July and for the first time, it revealed that she has normal EEG activity. I'd nearly died! It is evidently that she may have outgrown it. My point to my wife "All I want for my birthday is to be with my healthy family. No gift. Just a simple dinner will do!"

One last note, I have a cool Running friend from Brooklyn. We have been quite supportive in the past. We have been exchanging notes about running and music. We both are Apple iPod freak! She has a cool blog called "Running Down A Dream". I tell you, this chick really ROCK! She emailed me last night with the funniest song by Concrete Blonde called Happy Birthday. She really put a big smile on me. She warned me not to play the songs in front of my kids. She's right. Please do not play this song in front of your kids! Check this out.

To everyone out there, HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND. If anyone of you are running at any races this weekend, GOOD LUCK. I am heading to Rochester, New York tomorrow for Half Marathon this Sunday.

A birthday is just the first day of another 365-day journey around the sun. Enjoy the trip. ~Author Unknown

Happy Birthday Ted! I think running a half marathon this weekend is a great way to celebrate 44 years. I look forward to your race report!

So glad to hear about your daughter! It is great she is doing so much better.

Oh, and I must be really dense because I could not figure out why the video was not meant for kids. Did I miss something?

Happy Birthday Ted!!

Great news about your daughter.

I saw you on Xenia's blog. How did you get back from running through the streets of Rome so fast? You must have invented some kind of patented Ted rocket car.

Happy Birthday! You're almost exactly 10 years my senior. I turned 34 on the 3rd. I know, I know, you didnt' wish me Happy Birthday, but seriously, it's no big deal. I'm over it. Actually, it wasn't even an issue ;)

Happy Birthday Ted!

You know, you get around pretty good for an old guy. It's great to see that your old age doesn't hold you back.
